My "When Parents Text" Submission

Backstory: My dachshund Merlot’s toenail broke off completely and she was hobbling for a few days while we visited my parents.

Dad: How much is that doggy in the window, that one with the nine little toes?

Dad: How is the Mer-limper doing?

Me: Completely healed! She doesn’t limp anymore.

Dad: Mer-Miracle!!!

"Earnest College Seniors" Take Heed!

Last week, Baltimore PR firm Himmelrich PR posted a “help wanted” announcement on their blog/website to advertise a new position opening for a PR Account ExecutiveBut “earnest college seniors” should take heed! Check out the great note at the bottom to the several yet-to-graduate college students thinking they may have been qualified for the position. While the note may be a disappointing road block to some, smart college seniors should see this for what it really is: A TIME-SAVER! I wish more companies/employers wrote similar notes in job postings so as not to waste anyone’s time in applying for a position they’re not qualified for!!

If blog posts had sound, you’d be hearing my slow, quiet-but-honorary golf clap for Steve Himmelrich and team.

Joe Flacco Doesn't Know He's the Best, He Just Thinks It.

Joe Flacco presents a classic debate among athletes:

do you adopt the mindset that you are the best (power in positive thinking - that the power to do better is in thinking it first)

OR

do you adopt the midset that you are the worst (believing that the power to do better is in striving to always IMPROVE)?

It’s positive vs. negative thinking and it’s different for every athlete. Point being, Joe Flacco doesn’t KNOW himself as the best QB, he just THINKS it.

pinterest:

Today, we’re excited to introduce a brand new feature at Pinterest: Video Pins! If you’ve ever wanted to pin a DIY tutorial, a cooking lesson, a music video, or just a Beluga whale enjoying a Mariachi Band, now you can.

Just push the very same Pin It button you have installed in your bookmarks bar whenever you see a YouTube video. We are hard at work adding support for other video sites.

Enjoy!

I guess this means the dad is a dinosaur?

Do you know about the keyboard shortcuts with #NewTwitter? Here’s a refresher - Get to typing!

Regarding the Bed Bug epidemic...

“Since much of our clothing, sheets, towels, etc. now comes from companies outside of America, (even the most expensive stores sell foreign clothing from China, Indonesia, etc.): The bed bugs are coming in on the clothing as these countries do not consider them a problem. If you buy any new clothing, even underwear and socks, sheets, towels, etc., bring them into the house and put them in your clothes dryer for at least 20 minutes. The heat will kill them and their eggs. DO NOT PURCHASE CLOTHES AND HANG THEM IN THE CLOSET FIRST. It does not matter what the price range is of the clothing, or if the outfit comes from the most expensive store known in the U.S. They still get shipments from these countries and the bugs can come in a box of scarves or anything else for that matter. All you need is to bring one item into the house that has bugs or eggs and you will go to hell and back trying to get rid of them.”
